Privacy notice
This notice covers the details you give us through the two forms on this site — the contact form and the newsletter signup. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers. Like every website host, ours keeps short-lived technical logs of visits (such as your device’s internet address) to run the site and keep it secure; we don’t use them to identify you.
This notice is about this website only. The STEMeUp learning platform has its own privacy notice, which local authorities, colleges, schools and carers receive before anyone uses it.
Who we are
The data controller is STEMeUp Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 16630771; registered office Portland House, Belmont Business Park, Durham, England, DH1 1TW). You can reach us about anything in this notice through the contact form.
What we collect
If you fill in the contact form, we collect your name, email address and the message you write, plus your role and organisation if you choose to give them. If you sign up to the newsletter, we collect your email address only. In both cases we collect them on the basis of your consent, given via the unticked checkbox on each form.
What we do with it
Contact-form details are used only to read and reply to your enquiry. Newsletter emails are used only to send the occasional update you signed up for. We do not use either for any other purpose, and we do not share them with anyone except the services described below.
Where it lives
Submissions are received and stored by Netlify, Inc. (USA), the company that hosts this site, acting as our data processor. Netlify checks each submission for spam using Akismet, a spam-filtering service run by Automattic Inc. (USA). Netlify is certified under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the arrangement that allows UK personal data to be transferred to US companies lawfully, and it processes the data only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Contact-form details are kept for as long as we’re in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe (every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or give you a copy to take elsewhere, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, send us a request through the contact form, and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
