For local authorities

Every move can leave a gap in maths. Start with what each child has missed.

STEMeUp finds the gaps that a change of home or school has left, and fills them in the right order, from Year 9 to Year 11.

A year with your Virtual School.

  1. Getting started

    Onboarding

Signing up your whole cohort takes about five minutes. We create every account and post each child a welcome pack.

  2. First weeks

Every child gets their own map.

A precise map of what they know, across the smallest building blocks of GCSE Maths. It shows the gaps holding them back, and what they are ready to learn next.

  3. Every week

The child learns from that gap.

Our AI tutor starts at the earliest gap on their map. It only talks about maths, teaches one topic at a time, and asks the child to explain it back.

  4. Every PEP

Nothing to write before the PEP.

The report is ready to print: what the child has mastered, what they are working on and what comes next.

  5. All year

One view for everyone around the child.

Up-to-date progress for the carer, the Designated Teacher, the caseworker and the Virtual School Head, each in the form they need.

Who we built this with.

We built STEMeUp with local authorities and the people around each child. Each of them asks a different question.

  • Care-experienced learners “What do I do next?” One topic at a time, with a tutor that only talks about maths.
  • Carers “How do I help if I don’t know the maths?” Five minutes to try tonight, in plain words. No maths needed.
  • Designated Teachers “How’s this child’s maths going?” One card for each child: their gaps, their progress and their PEP report.
  • PEP Caseworkers “What do I bring to the PEP?” The report, ready to print. Record a move of home or school once, and the right carer and teacher are linked.
  • Virtual School Heads “Is it working, and for which children?” Your whole cohort, school by school, and the PEP reviews coming up.
